New Possibility- Multistory Structure for Process Industry |
Multi-level Process Structure demands the use of heavy and durable yet strong materials. Steel, by virtue of its high strength to weight ratio enables large spans and light weight construction. Taller buildings also face higher wind loads, and hence steel being flexible, allows the building to move and deflect with the wind forces, rather than making it rigid like concrete. |
Interarch Multi storey steel buildings have un-matched benefits like |
High strength to volume/mass ratio |
Speed in construction and time saving in comparison to RCC, resulting in early return on investment |
Steel frames are lighter in weight in comparison to RCC frame. Lighter foundations are required for steel buildings due to less weight than RCC resulting cost advantage over civil construction |
Occupies less space and can be designed for larger clear span, resulting greater coverage, this helps in large open office spaces and large auditoriums and concerts halls, etc |
Steel structures can have a variety of structural forms like braced frames and moment resistant frames suitable to meet the specific requirements of higher buildings |
Tall Building with steel allows more floors per total height of the building |

Role of Ridge Vents in a building |
The primary reason to provide the Ridge Ventilators in Pre-Engineered steel building is for the removal / reduction of following:
Heat buildup: Thus providing comfort to workers, preserving the goods and enabling equipment to function properly.
Gaseous by-products: A result of some manufacturing processes, thus providing a healthier atmosphere for workers.
Flammable fumes: Thus minimizing fire hazards (ventilation is also important after a fire has started at which time it helps in removing the fumes and smoke), and improving visibility for escapees and fire fighters.
There are two practical methods for determining ventilation requirements:
The Air Change Method, which is based on a recommended rate of air changes per hour for different building usages when ventilator capacity is given.
The Heat Removal Method, which calculates the volume of air required to remove the heat gain inside a building
Interarch standard Ridge vents come with 300, 600 & 900 mm throat widths and can be provided 3m long or multiples of 3m lengths as required by ventilation design.

Value Addition Working with Interarch - Interarch’s Manufacturing Strength |
Interarch has three manufacturing facilities located at Rudrapur and Kiccha in Uttarakhand, and Sriperembadur in Tamil Nadu with a total manufacturing capacity of 120000 MT of built up and 3,50,000 Sq. M of roofing per annum. |
Interarch’s Rudrapur plant is Interarch’s flagship manufacturing facility set up in early 2005 which caters to the growing demand of pre-engineered steel buildings in the Indian market. This large facility is one of the most modern manufacturing facilities in India. Interarch Rudrapur is the only plant of its kind in India to have heavy-steel structure manufacturing capabilities which cater to large-scale industrial projects, multi-storey commercial complexes, car parks and hotels. |
In 2008, Interarch set up a unit at Kichha, Uttaranchal, which is spread over 20 acres, recent expansion has been done to this plant to upgrade this division as per the modern technology for heavy steel construction and pipe structure for manufacturing clear span up to 100 m
Interarch’s manufacturing plant in Chennai is an ancillary unit servicing the Southern India

Project Management Tip |
Precautions to be taken During Monsoon Season |
Supervisors should ensure requisite safety inspections after work resumes, to carry out the outdoor installations, such as scaffoldings, temporary supports, cranes, suspended working platforms, power supply plant, etc. before they are put into use |
Provide employees with adequate facilities and equipment such as safety helmets |
Raincoats, gumboots with anti-slip sole to ensure their safety at work |
Don’t be in hurry, be cautious and move slowly & carefully on wet and slippery surfaces |
Avoid walking through puddles no matter how shallow they appear |
Do not use damp nylon belts for lifting the material as they are to prone wear off and break |
Use only appropriate wire ropes for lifting the material |
Check all machinery controls to ensure proper operation before use |
Avoid moving of heavy vehicle near excavated/ barricaded areas or into rain water pits. |
Ensure the scaffolding, rope ladder foot holds are free from any slip hazards or loose soil |
Stay away from power lines and poles at the site, always treat them cautiously as they are dangerous |
Be alert for damaged plugs and cords on electrical appliances and fixtures. Don't touch or use them if they are damaged |
All electrical work should be carried out using appropriate rubber mats |
Ensure all electrical cables are laid down properly in dry areas at site |
Ensure joints of cable / joint holder are not in contact with the water, avoid welding work in wet condition |
Use undamaged electrical cables for all electrical tools at site |
Inspect all electrical tools before starting the work |
Ensure proper drainage of still water which is a breeding place for mosquitoes and empty water from outdoor items such as old tires, cans and flower pot bases |
