Interarch inaugurated the EHS (Environment Health & Safety) campaign under the Certified Builder Program initiative for next 3 months at all the sites across India. Under this campaign Interarch is planning to execute -many activities for the workers at site for upgrading their abilities and improving their interactive skills.
Interarch will dedicate 3 months for this specific activity for all the sites to engage its workers at various levels. Three months long program will not only set the benchmarks for builders working in the Pre-Engineered Steel building industry, also it will be a next step for achieving higher customer satisfaction by reassuring each worker and providing them support which in turn will result to a better execution of the project by team Interarch.

New Possibility in Metro Rails |
In the recent times, Indian Infrastructure is advancing at par with global standards. Not just aiming at aesthetically inspiring structures but also safe and robust constructions in lesser time frame - a crucial factor for many sectors especially for Metro Rails. Within the construction sector, pre-engineered steel construction has played a vital role and will continue to play a substantial role in development of all these projects.
Steel structures are highly suited to diverse applications within the infrastructure space due to the speed of construction, off-shore manufacturing and durability of the material. Worldwide, use of steel is more preferred material compared to any other material including concrete due to its versatile unique feature & advantages over other material. Steel provides greater flexibility, less space occupancy, less volume to mass ratio, easy to construct, faster construction material compared to all other construction material available worldwide. A combination of steel structure with concrete is considered as best and fasted construction material worldwide.
Metro construction in India is still dominated primarily by the pre-cast and tension construction. Pre-engineered steel construction in metro rail is far more applicable to the MRO facilities and massive train parking stations. Apart from the fact that these structures are fast to construct and contribute to eco-friendly green construction, the key aspect of this technology is that it is resistance to earth-quakes and fire to a great extent which is certainly an important factor for Metro Construction. In the coming 10 years or so, Pre Engineered Building industry will play a key role in the metro rail system as most of the forthcoming metro is using steel construction for their stations, and MRO facilities.

Project Management Tip: Best Practices Followed at Site to Keep the Environment Clean |
Ensuring that emission controls are effective for vehicles, machinery and motors are well maintained |
Turning off of the vehicles and machinery engines when not in use |
Store liquids like paints diesel etc away from drains and water courses |
Ensuring taps and hoses properly closed when not in use, unnecessary wastage should be avoided |
The wooden battens are recollected at the site so that they can be reused |
The Insulation material should be sent to approved Treatment, Storage and Disposal facilities |
Water-based paints are more environment friendly than solvent-based alternatives, so wherever possible it should be used |
Painting area should be covered from sides and polythene sheets should be layed to prevent seepage of paint to soil and the waste is sent to approved Treatment, Storage and Disposal facilities |

ESPIC, a Professional Engineering Consultancy Organization in steel sector started its operation in 1986. The company has made its mark by providing Consultancy Services, Detailed Engineering and Project Consultancy in the field of Iron and Steel Making, Rolling and Processing in India and Abroad. With support of more than 150 technocrats, prestigious projects underway are at different locations in India, UAE, Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Morocco. ESPIC has evolved into a major global player in providing innovative engineering solutions through setting of higher standards in the field of Engineering, Construction Planning and Project.
According to Mr. Mahesh Gupta, AVP, Civil & Structure) & Mr. Sanjay Khandelwal, Director some of esteemed building projects are workshop for M/s. SMS India Pvt. Ltd. at Bhubaneswar area of 22,000 Sq. M with different heavy crane capacities and Hot strip project of M/s. JSW Steel at Bellary area of 1, 20,000 Sq. M with crane capacity of 140 tones.
According to them Pre-engineered Building players should have flexible approach towards site welding of crucial welded joints especially in heavy industries. While focusing on Green Building they suggested that bright color sheet should be used and redundant glazing should be avoided to reduce internal temperature which leads to decrease in energy consumption. However glazing/transparent sheets should be used at appropriate places to make use of daylight.
They appreciated Interarch’s working methodology and suggested to provide additional maintenance package to clients towards better service. According to them, Steel Industry & Multi-Storey buildings will be the potential sectors for Pre-engineered Building. |
Building Made Possible in Steel: The Empire State Building |
The Empire State Building is the most iconic skyscraper ever built. Whether its legend was sealed with scenes of a giant ape battling bi-planes with one hand while cradling Fay Wray in the other, or its enduring status as the tallest building in New York (post World Trade Centre), the Empire State Building is the one sight most visitors to the city have atop their lists.
Receiving gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating in September 2011, the Empire State Building is the tallest LEED certified building in the United States.
It set new benchmarks for construction when it was completed in 1931, and it held the title of World’s Tallest Building for over 40 years before being eclipsed by the World Trade Centre in 1972.As it turned out, that ended up being 381m. The steel framed structure was built in record time (13 months) by contractors.
